Every comics writer has more than his or her fair share of “dream comics” — those books they’d love to take a crack at writing, often out of a sense of nostalgia for a character or series they loved at one point or another. Horror author Brian Keene has opened up his message board to a number of writers, offering a great place for readers to interact with their favorite creators. Even though I’ve had my reservations about message boards in the past, I think the Keenedom will be different. I’m thrilled to be a part of it, and I hope you’ll join in the fun. Writers like Mike Oliveri, Nate Southard, Gord Rollo, Gene O’Neill, and many others have already signed on. You’ll need to register to participate, but we wanna keep the riff raff out, yeah?

I wasn’t planning on attending this year’s New York City Comic Con, but Jeremy Haun and B. Clay Moore twisted my arm. I’ll be leaving for the show tomorrow, and I’ll be there through Sunday. I’ll frequently be found haunting the Oni Press booth, and I’ll definitely be signing there on Saturday from 10:15 to 11:30.
In the meantime, I’m stealing an idea from Mike Oliveri and switching my site to con mode, meaning I’llpost daily digests of my twitter posts and such over the next couple of days.
If you’re in New York, be sure to say hello!
