Last week, Brian Hurtt, Matt Kindt, and I participated in a lecture on comic books at Louis and Clark Community College. It was a great time and, as usual, I was able to speak with some cool folks about something I love. Steve Higgins, the coordinator and moderator for the panel, has posted videos covering the majority of the panel on GraphiContent. Head over there if you’re interested in hearing what the three of us had to say.

Skullvines Press has announced an impressive line-up over the next couple of years, including two disgusting books by yours truly.
First up, Cullen Bunn’s Heaveworld will collect the stories with which I won the four World Horror Convention gross-out contests I entered. It definitely isn’t a book for those with a weak stomach or delicate sensibilities. The collection will be released later this year.
Then, in 2010, they’ll be publishing my novella, “Great Balls of Ire,” an action-packed horror yarn set during the most peculiar of festivals. Wild dogs, bikers, skinned corpses, ancient dieties, and mountain oysters … all colliding in a mayhem-filled adventure that might be considered an extended gross-out story.
There you have it! Two upcoming books promised to make you say, “Yeech!” Stay tuned for more details!
It looks like The Damned is going worldwide. Spanish and French editions of the trade paperback are now available.
In Spanish, we have El Maldito: Tres Dias Muerto from publisher Debolsillo.
From Akileos, we have the French editions of The Damned, Tome 1: Mort depuis trois jours and The Damned, Tome 2: Les fils prodigues, which is currently the only collected edition of the Prodigal Sons storyline. If you’re interested, digiBiDi currently has a 10-page preview of Les fils prodigues available online.

Two books featuring my work have been nominated by the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Acheivement in an Anthology his year.
Horror Library, Volume 3 features my Halloween-themed yarn, “Masks and Shadows,” along with a bunch of great stories by numerous talented folks.
Like a Chinese Tattoo contains three of my stories, “Tomorrow, When the Demons Come,” “Remains,” and “Granny Kisses.” There is also fiction by JA Konrath, David Thomas Lord and Rick R. Reed.
This is an incredible honor, and I congratulate the publishers, the editors, and my fellow contributors for the nomination! Continue Reading
