CULLEN BUNN RELEASES THREE NEW TALES OF TERROR

Outer Shadows and Outland Entertainment are proud to present three new one-shot horror stories from Cullen Bunn, Diogo Carvalho, Luay Garwan, and Eman Casallos. The Kickstarter campaign for CULLEN BUNN’S TRIPLE THREAT OF TERROR launches before Halloween. The campaign will fund three single issue one-shots to be published by Outland Entertainment.

The three one-shots include THE WINDOW, LONG PIG & AZRAEL, and DEATH DUEL WITH THE CHAINSAW WITCHES.

Outer Shadows is thrilled to present Cullen’s Terror Triple-Threat, a special, horror-filled campaign introducing three different one-shot Tales of Terror, written by master of horror comics Cullen Bunn and illustrated by an exciting rogue’s gallery of artists.

THE WINDOW, illustrated by Luay Garwan with colors by Paul Little and letters by Shannon Potratz, follows a family who moves into a new home… only to discover that one window looks out onto an alien world filled with insidious monsters.

LONG PIG & AZRAEL, illustrated by Eman Casallos with colors by Paul Little and letters by Shannon Potratz, is a road-trip buddy adventure, featuring a lonely wanderer and the hungry monster he’s promised to keep fed.

DEATH DUEL WITH THE CHAINSAW WITCHES, illustrated by Diogo Carvalho with colors by Paul Little and letters by Shannon Potratz, presents heavy metal horror, as a trio of rocker witches wage a bloody war against demonic forces.

Bunn credits a love of the independent horror movies of his youth as the inspiration for these books.

“When I was a kid, I was fascinated by indie science fiction and horror movies,” says Bunn. “I watched TROLL and DUNGEONMASTER and THE ELIMINATORS and TERRORVISION at my local movie theater. And, from the very first day I walked into a video store, I was renting Empire Picture and Full Moon movies. And I almost never stop thinking about those flicks, about the drive and determination, about the blood and guts, that it took to make them. These three comics were spawned from my love of those movies. They’re fun, quirky, bloody, and wholeheartedly independent!”

For the artwork on these books, Cullen turned to artists he had worked with before and artists who were new collaborators.

“It's a thrill working with Cullen Bunn again,” says Eman Casallos, “having worked with him in Dynamite's MASKS 2 several years ago. Cullen gave me a lot of trust and freedom to deliver his story with my art and I hope I reciprocated that with the love I gave to every page. I hope this book fills the appetite of fans of the horror genre, Cullen and I cooked up one good serving. One that is filling but will leave you wanting more.”

“I loved having the opportunity to follow the project from the beginning,” says Diogo Carvalho. “The process was a beautiful ride. I'm looking forward to people getting to know and love these characters like I do. After living with them for so long, it's time to introduce them to the world. I hope the world likes them.”

“Drawing ‘The Window’ is exciting,” says Luay Garwan, “because it allows me to explore a vast horror universe filled with limitless creative potential, while also balancing a grounded story about a struggling family.  This interplay creates a nice artistic contrast in the narrative for me to work with.

The campaign for CULLEN BUNN’S TRIPLE THREAT OF TERROR will kick off in late October with books expected to be delivered in December 2024.
